Rain rain go away....

Sometimes when I'm sad it rains.... It's not happy rain... its dreary sad depressing weather. Weather that has over cast gray clouds....

I love happy rain. Rain that drenches your very soul and makes you dance in it....
Today it is dreary weather and it's hailing and snowing.... I wonder what the weather is suggesting today...?
I always feel like the weather understand my moods. Maybe I just interperrate it how I want it to be....

THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND

1) Skater boy hair do's... If a guy's hair is longer than mine... it usually just doesn't work. At least in my opinion. Usually long hair only works for punk looks or "beach boy" looks. Again... my opinion.

2) Mustaches....

3)Especially this one with the beard involved...

4) Beards.... Especially the crazy ones.

5) Critisism. I understand that you can't fix the problem unless you know it exists but... tact my friends... tact. Be careful how you present things because you just might offend someone. Especially, especially during finals when I'm all ready stressed and flustered. However I probably would have been annoyed any way. I suppose it's because no one wants to hear bad stuff about themselves.

6) Facebook games. I don't understand the hype to building farms and all that. I suppose I never will unless I play them once.

7) Socks with flipflops. If your feet are cold wear shoes....

8) Why it really matters if the toliet paper is under or over.... It's all about the shower curtain! And yes, it needs to be pushed open to were the toliet is. This way when you exit it isn't by the toliet.

9) Minni skirts and short shorts in the winter. How can you be wearing a big fluffy coat and nothing on your legs? What you wake up and say, "Man my torso is freezing but my legs are on FIRE."

10) Morning people....

Smooch!

Ug! Can I just say I'm really frustrated with finals. I'm sitting in the ELC, which is the equivalent of the nerd lab, and I'm SOOOO tired of homework.

I feel as though school should end... now. My last final is on Thursday. Ah Thursday... please come soon.

Awhile back I was chatting with girl and she informed me it was "National Kiss a Mormon Day."

What the heck?

I've never heard of this strange holiday before. I googled it and it came up as something on facebook. I guess if it's on the web it's true right? Ha ha.

Note: Don't worry I didn't get on facebook so I still haven't broken my goal to not get on it until after school... However I'll admit I've almost cracked a few dozen times and about decided to just log on. No, I will stay strong! ha ha...

In my opinion the person who created the holiday just wanted an excuse to kiss someone and apparently the person they wanted to kiss was Mormon. It makes me wonder if it was a guy or a girl. If you are a man who created the holiday.... just get some guts and kiss the person you like. Make the move, you don't need an excuse....
I considered finding someone to smooch, and I still haven't decided if I'm going to do it. And it would only be on the cheek so don't everyone freak out at once. :P

Now some of you might be thinking, "Liz Liz... it's all ready past the 26 and is now the 27, because it's almost two in the morning."

I however, don't consider it the next day until I go to asleep or until five thiry in the morning. So... I still have time.

I've considered randomly walking up to a random boy in the ELC asking if he was LDS and if he answered yes, then giving him a peck on the cheek.
  • Would I explain myself or would I just walk away?
  • Would he freak out if I didn't ask him if I could?
  • Maybe I'll do it when the numbers in here dwindles down just a bit more so there isn't a big audience.
  • Is there any guys who could be potential prospects?
  • Hmm... would he think I was a wierdo/psycho?
  • Should I do it??
When is it the next day? At midnight or when you go to sleep? Do you agree or disagree with me?

Tell me one of your inside jokes!

A Poke From Above

Well can I just say Heavenly Father loves me.... He really really does! It's so fantastic.

So here is the story...

The last couple of days have been hectic because I have gotten NO sleep. I've been so busy doing each thing I basically died last night. Okay that's me just be over dramatic. But I was knocked out....

Then a friend needed me at like two in the morning so once I got done with that... it was back to the zombie world.

When I woke up this morning to get ready for my eight thirty class at seven... because I'm obviously a drama diva and need at least an hour to get ready. I thought to myself, "Just one more minute...."

Then as I feel back asleep into the beautiful dream world I was gone until I woke up suddenly with a jump start. I'm pretty sure this is were Heavenly Father decided to jab me in the side so I'd wake up.

Springing to my feet groggily I wonder what was going on. I glanced at the clock and immediately starting screaming....

"SSSSSSHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT!!!! SHOOT! SHHHHHHOOOOOT!" Don't worry I don't swear.

Running to check the real time, seeing as I randomly keep the clock ahead from the real time so I have a "few" more extra minutes I began yelling again.

SHOOT!

I checked my phone and sent out a text because I had a end of project presentation due... TWENTY MIN AGO!

I faintly remember hearing my roommate Kelli Jean behind me. I'm sure she was wondering what I was screaming about, however I'm sure she recognized I slept in. I'm grateful that she didn't say anything to me because when I wake up and something is terribly wrong, I wake up grumpy and I probably would have snapped at her. So it's a good thing she's so sweet.

When I'm really frustrated I tend to zig-zag. This is were I sporadically go from an area in a room to another. Imagine it as a more psychotic pacing habit.

After zig-zagging for probably about a min while I waited for the answer of my text I realized how I was wasting time.

I quickly ran back into my room and splashed water on my face and doused my hair in water, seeing as my hair goes crazy like a troll when I sleep. Then I slipped on some clothes and ran out the door with my glasses in hand.

I prayed the whole time while I walked that everything would be okay. I entered the room just as my group was about to present.

-SIGH OF RELIEF-

I'm so glad Heavenly Father is watching out for me... and that He cares about the things I care about. Especially because sometimes I do a pretty rotten job of taking care of myself....

Training Toes

Have you ever considered how unflattering flip-flops are? Granted they look cute when your feet are still, but once you start moving... trust me, it's not so attractive.

If you have ever stared down at your feet while you've walked... you'll understand where I'm coming from.

You see as people walk in flip flops, their feet do this awful squashed gorilla. They spread apart and develop into this eagle claw that is trying to break free.

So since I was young and notice this I've tried training my toes to stay together when I walk. Trust me, it's an on going aspiration. Usually I don't even notice that I'm doing it, however it takes concentration so imagine flexing your bicep for a long time. You realize you are flexing your muscle the pain does go away. Although sometimes you find your self doing it... I don't know like when your a girl and you sit up straight because you see a cute guy. It's like that....

I'll admit I have a slight problem with feet.... I've never liked them, but now I can at least say feet are cute. I use to not even like people touching my feet because I thought they were gross and I was sure other people thought it was as well. Now I like when people massage my feet but for the first three minutes I still kind of wig-out. Often times I will fall back into a stage at time where I start freaking out because someone puts their feet on me.

I"ll admit to one of my secrets. I'll look at a guys feet to make sure there feet aren't really gross. I don't really want to go into depth. But as long as they look like they are human feet instead of gorilla feet.... I'm good. I know weird right?

What's something weird you check out on a girl/guy?

(Want to know one of my FAVORITE things I look for? ...defined jaws.... yup :D )

Now I've developed a slight acquaintance with feet. I'm okay... with feet. We aren't pals or anything but I can deal with it. However, I hate feet near my face. So don't but your feet in front of my face unless you want me to attack you.

I'm sure now some of you think I have some sort of fetish about feet but I really don't. I don't even really like them. I just was noticing I was doing the toe work out the other day when I was wearing my flip flops.

-SHESH-

I sure that anyone who reads my blog and doesn't know me probably thinks I'm this lame-o nerd, who never leaves her computers side. Honestly, I blog all the time don't I? Oh well. I don't mind if your not getting anything out of it or even reading it. I do it for myself....

Whisper: Okay I really do care but I'll pretend like I don't.

I am on a facebook strike currently, and so I've been getting on an extra amount. I didn't think I was addicted, but I'm going through withdrawls. It's mostly because I want to see if anyone has sent me a message or anything. -Sigh- Oh well.

Yesterday I removed my video post of me singing because I started getting all freaked out that people were going to judge me and crap.... ha ha. What a lame-o am I? Thus to prove I'm not a lame-o I'm going to start keeping an updated youtube account. Don't worry don't feel obligated to watch it. :P We'll see how that goes.... But I'm going to update a video so because I told Olivia I would.

Cat's and Dogs

The term coined "raining cats and dogs" comes into play at the moment. I walked roughly 5 minutes in the rain and my pants are soaking wet..... I actually considered going into the girls bathroom, stripping down and ringing them out. However I decided I really didn't want anyone to walk in on such a scene so early in the morning. :P It might possibly scar them for life.

I honestly love the rain.... However it kind of sucks to get soaked and then have to sit for the rest of the day in wet clothes. Oh well I'll dry off soon. I just wish I could go play outside in the rain.....
Mmmm.....

I've had seven hours of sleep over the past two nights. Oh joy. Tonight I"ll be lucky if I get more than three. I don't think finals can end soon enough.....

I must finish this huge paper that's due today... so back to work.

..............
So this blog "Busy Bee Lauren" is giving away a headband.... Her blog is cute, I follow it but I'm not the most faithful reader. I usually skim and look for her photos. She usually cooks food and makes it look all delectable and then post photos.

Her husband from my perspective seems really lucky she always seems to make delicious food.... If I ever get a husband, he will look forward to when I actually cook. Ha ha.

She also has this really cute style sense that I like and makes these kinds of headbands.
Anyway concerning the headband... I want it. However, I'm not certain with my short hair if I can pull it off.... Here is to hoping I get it, because I think it will look fabulous.

Oh and in case you were wondering... I didn't get that other blog give away too bad because it was a cute dress. Oh well :P

Knock Um' Dead

So tonight was the talent show.... I think it went fabulous. There was a lot of people who did excellent jobs. A lot of talent I tell you!!!!

Here is the recap (Don't worry you can skip this)

-One guy did american sign language to the song "Angels Amoung Us." I absolutely LOVE that song, it's one of my favorites! It was honestly so moving and touching.

-Another one I loved was this guy who sang a song off of "Fiddler On The Roof". He sang the if I were a rich man song. I was impressed how low he could go... it was hilarious.

-Some girls sang some Disney songs. There voices where gorgeous and they harmonized beautifully.

-Cheri did an amazing job by singing this song about rain and love that she made up. It was beautiful!

-My roomie Kellie Jean and some lovey ladies from the Windsor appartments did a song about facebook stalking to an Elvis song. Ha ha.... It was brilliant!

-These guys sang "Some Where Over the Rainbow" on their ukes (the version on the movie 50 First Dates). It was great.

I ended up singing "New Shoes" I know go figure. :P

It was really cool because midway through my performance people started snapping. It slightly threw me off but it was fun.

At the end of my performance the MC came up and put his jacket over my shoulders. After handing it back I grabbed the microphone and commented on this man's fabulous suit jacket he was wearing this bright purple jacket. It was fabulous. Anyhow so after I said something like, "I don't know why no one has commented on his epic purple jacket. I think he looks quite fashionable... bla."

Anyhow so after I said such... the microphone fell over. -SIGH- After yelling "Awww crap." or something like that and the crowd errupted laughing I bet down and got it.

Leave it up to me to do something ridiculous.

It was quite a fun night. The only problem was... it lasted forever!!!! Oh man... roughly three hours plus. And I have a HUGE... GINORMOUS paper. Suck.... Suck suck....

Why does the toaster have settings that no one will use?

How am I suppose to make big life decisions and be an adult when I have problems choosing what I'm going to wear?

Video+New Shoes

This is the song that I've been talking about that I love.... So this is my version of New Shoes. I didn't do the whole thing because my webcamera does this wierd thing where the voice goes into slow-mo.

Here goes... no one knock me too badly.... ha ha

Anyway so I kind of messed up a couple of times but oh well.... -Sigh- I would rerecord it but I'm too lazy. You'll just have to deal with that one.....

Today I basket in the glory of the sun. It was delectable! I didn't get any homework done... but it was a much needed break!

What did you do over the weekend?

Happiness

Today I decided to be happy. It's not like I set out to be grumpy when I'm upset, rather... I just tend to get overwhelmed.

Usually I think in my head I want to be happy and I set out to be happy. But sometimes when I'm upset I get in this black hole....

So today I've decided to be happy!

Here are a few sliver linings:

-I FINALLY have all my surveys filled out for my research project. Boo-Ya!

-I get to see my father this weekend

-Yesterday I was told I was "irreplaceable". How sweet huh?

-My FABULOUS ROOMIES! Kellie Jean I'm glad your so sweet and we didn't fight like in your dream.... Kitty, thanks for all the delectable food and being constantly so sweet and caring. Kelly, I'm glad I was able to room with my best friend!

-SCHOOL WILL BE ENDING SHORTLY! Hooray!
-I'M GETTING A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooooooooo excited!
-I love my boots... yes I don't think anyone can have an off day if they are wearing killer shoes. :)
-My guitar has a strap now :)
-I'm slowly getting better at the guitar! Horay for tabs!

THEIF!!!

WHO EVER STOLE MY BIKE, I WANT IT BACK! ...please....

:(

I suppose who ever stole my bike must have thought to themselves, "I need this bike more than this girl does (it was pink of course they knew it belonged to a girl)." If not, they wouldn't have taken it? Right?

Let's just hope some super hero needed it to save the world. Yes I can see it now my bike is apart of MIB*.

If that isn't the case.... I really should look in to investing in some good luck charms....

I don't really want a rabbit foot? Any ideas?

Dear Bike,
I miss you. Please find your way back to me because I don't have enough money to buy a new one.

Besides, I liked you best any way.

Love,
Liz

Is finals killing anyone else? I might have to become a vampire out of sheer necessity.

Earphones

How come a librarian can take my drivers licence but not my phone if I want to borrow some head phones? Yes... it's beyond my comprehension.

The purpose of taking the ID is making sure the individual won't steal the "headphones" or what ever it is boring. I might understand if this person had never seen me before.... but I'm at the library all the time. This individual knows me... well at least they recognize me.

And come on... I'm not going to leave my phone....

Does she think I went to the trouble of: stealing a phone, just so I could use it to steal some large old headphones?

Really?

I've come to the point that when I study I like to listen to classical music on pandora. -SIGH- This is really problematic because I don't I have a hard time focusing. AKA: I'm currently blogging rather than doing my homework.

At least I remembered my ear plugs....

I've removed all the annoying things when it comes to commenting. Therefore, I hope I've figured out a way so even those of you who don't have blogs and are reading my blog can comment.

Special Note: My blog posts seems to think it's a great idea for my format to get all screwed up with extra spaces and such.... Any clues as to how to remove this problem?

Moving Curb

So today while crossing the street I noticed a girl who seemed rather upset. I therefore, decided I would make this girl smile. So before stepping on to the curb I looked over and stated, "Can you believe this wind? It's ridiculous!"

At this moment in time I step on to an imaginary curb, due to the fact it was another few inches away, and ended falling forward hitting the pavement. -DRAMATIC SIGH-

I quickly rose to my feet and announced, "Hmm... I probably should watch where I'm going huh?" I started laughing.

Luckily... the girl didn't make fun of me at all. Oh well. At least my goal was accomplished.

Now it is not only windy it's snowing.... *sigh* Why? It's bascially summer? Come on sun... come out, come out, where ever you are....

MBP... easy as 1,2,3

Mormon Bachelor Pad is a blog written by two anonymous individuals who claim to be two young single man.

Am I to say whether or not they say who they are is, in fact, who they are?

Na...

Honestly I don't care. The purpose of their blog is to entertain... and generally I am. So what can I say except it's rather BRILLIANT. These gentleman or young men share stories and escapades about their lives, which usually revolves around dating...
They even sell T-shirts...

Pretty official eh? I actually wanted one but I'm to cheap. I believe they run around $12.00 plus shipping.

Since I'm an advertising major... I saw this coming. If my blog was more successful I'd do something similar. Hopefully one day... one day....

Currently they are doing a give away, which will definitely increase their readership. I hope they keep it up... strictly for my benefit of course....

So MBP,

Since:

A)We media buddies and all....

(If you were wondering the photos were taken for one of my friends photography class projects. It was pretty fun... but because her project was based on technology, I can't use any of the photos seriously because I'm on the phone.... :P By the way... did you notice the rockin' shoes? Yeah baby! Too bad they aren't mine.)
.... :P Ah... technology... always in hand.

B) I read your blog... most of the time

C) I LOVE that dress your doing as your give away....

D) I'd post some awesome pictures from some place epic!

Enough said... pick me for your contest!! Please, please, please.....

Love,
Liz

Beacon of HOPE

In Cedar City there is this little landmark that I look to as a beacon of light. Most people find it random and I've heard that some people think it's "stupid". -GASP-

I, however, love it! I absolutely adore it! A tall pillar of light... yes... a light house in the middle of southern utah.

A LIGHT HOUSE!

I've always LOVED lighthouses because one of my favorite places in the world are beaches. The LDS religion also makes several connections to lighthouses. A source that guides and direct individuals to the safe shores.

However the main reason why I am so found of them is because, they also remind me of my mother. My mother loves lighthouses. And so they remind me of her. No matter what happens my mother stands tall; my beacon of hope. She has always been one of the ultimate examples in my life. She is one of the most self sacrificing people I know, always sharing her inner light.

If I can ever become a small percentage of who my mother is... I will be able to awesome.

Anyhow, when ever I see light houses my heart warms and I feel... at home. I just can't help but look at them and smile inside.

I wish I had a better picture that showed its location. This beautiful tower is located right next to Walmart, which is a slight shame but oh well. I realize Walmart is quite a central location... so I see the point.

I've decided to officially start my bucket list. I've always had a list of things in my head... but I'm going to officially print something off.

So here are a few:

-Getting on top of Cedar Citiy's light house!
-Scumba dive
-Own a car (soon to happen :P)
-Water Skii
-Learn to surf
-Learn spanish
-Swim with a Dolphin or a Killerwhale
-Graduate with a Bachelors Degree
-Get kissed in the rain
-Write a song
-Go some where with clear beautiful water...
-Learn how to talk with an Austrialian accent
-Try out for a muscial/theater production
-Write a second book

I think that's good enough for now.

What's something on your bucket list?

"I'm Gonna Shoak Up the Sun"

I Prefer Cold...

You know when you sit down in a seat and it's all ready warm? ...yeah. I'm never quite sure how I feel about it.

Because sometimes it's cold outside and it's like you have your own person seat warmer.... Lol. However, I always get thrown because it isn't electronics that warmed the seat (like in cars and such)... so maybe I'd just prefer my seat to be cold.

Hmm. As I start to look at the photo I choose I wonder what the cartoon is suppose to depict.

No doubt they're students trying to survive a boring lecture. The blue kid is bored and the red and green people are whispering back and forth. I'm sure they'll be yelled out shortly by their professor.

Or maybe since there isn't desk they're in some sort of group therapy session or something. I can hear them now ... "My name is ___ and I'm addicted to blogging."

Sorry all you can tell your addicted to blogging when you have nothing to write but you still do.

Anyway if your still reading well props to you... I'll end your torture now....

"JANGLES GET OFF THE STAGE YOU UGLY BEAST"

This weekend was good. General Conference* was excellent. Isn't it interesting how revelation comes and then how often we are reassured of that very revelation.

Hmm... does that make any sense? I guess stating: "As individuals we learn best through repetition." is a better way of explaining it. Anyhow Conference was excellent!

The weekend consisted of :

1)Decorating eggs with my niece and nephew and their mother. It was rather humorous seeing as my little nephew immediately wanted every egg and began excitedly dropping eggs into the colors. Within the first minute I believe he had six eggs in various colors.

2) Staying up late... of course :) and watching movies. I hung out with some friends and watched "Old Dogs". I thought it was really cute, however maybe it was partially due to my love for Robbin Williams. I think in almost every movie he makes me cry and of course roll on the floor with laughter. If you don't like the movie, you'll have to tell me why, because I thought it was fantastic!

3) Sleeping in. I finally realized what's wrong with me!!!! Recently I've been sleeping in longer than I have ever before... I don't even want to give the details. Apparently if you don't eat that's bad.... Hmm... Who would have known?

4) Watching Conference and "The life and legacy of Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma Hale Smith." I bawled though this whole movie basically. It is quite inspiring.

5) I forgot I watched this oriental film with some friends.... er... I'm drawing a blank something about Geisha women....

It was more intense than I was expecting it to be. It was great though. I was treated to a delectable smoothie and serving of hamburger helper.
....

"JANGLES get off the stage you ugly beast!" (shouted with crazy accent)

Don't worry I'm not calling anyone but myself an ugly beast.... I know you don't understand do you? Sorry it's one of those lame inside jokes that always get me flustered inside.

It's okay I think of an awesome joke to make you all feel included... but for now... homework time.

...............
General Conference: A broadcasted church meeting where the leaders of the LDS church speak to the members of the world, which includes the President of our church (who is currently) President Thomas S. Monson. (Broadcasted every six months....)
